Regina Aschenberger

Regina Achenberger, wife of Simon Aufrichtig,  was born in Boskovice on 10 March 1866. She and Simon had six children - Ernst (17 September 1896) and Gerta (24 October 1897), both born in Gaya, Moravia; Paul (18 August 1899), Fritz (2 June 1901) and Rudolf (16 September 1904), all born in Misslitz/Miroslav; and Walter (15 September 1906) born in Vienna. Regina, Ernest, Paul, Fritz and Walter were all murdered in the Holocaust

Possibly connected to Regina were a family of Aschenbergers who had been living at 39 Bilkoa, Boskovice since, it is believed, before the start of the 20th century. They were:

Arnost Aschenberger b. 15 Feb 1893

Julius/Jindrich Aschenberger b. 2 Jan 1934

Katerina Aschenberger b. 14 Dec 1904

Arnost, Julius, and Katerina were deported to Theresienstadt on Transport Ac on 19 Mar 1942 and from Theresienstadt deported to Auschwitz on Transport Ev 28 Oct ober1944. There are Yad Vashem testimonials  for Heinrich Aschenberger b. 12 Dec 1904, describing him as married to Katerina and for Julius/Jindrich b. 2 Jan 1934, whose parents are listed as Klara and Heinrich.

NOTE:

1) There is no official record of Heinrich’s deportation.

2) It would appear that Katerina and Klara are one and the same person married to Heinrich Aschenberger.

Other Aschenbergers who died in the Holocaust were:

Josef Aschenberger (b. 13 Feb 1874) and Therese née Schnuermacher (b 11 Feb 1883. Last address 9 Servitengasse, Vienna . They were each deported from Vienna to Theresienstadt on Transport IV/7 14 Aug 1942 where they both died.

Meyer Aschenberger (b 21 Jan 1861) and Jettchen Aschenberger (b 20 Mar 1872) who were deported from Hannover to Theresienstadt on Transport VIII/I on 24 July 1942 where they both died in 1943.
