Elizabeth was born in China and adopted by Anne and Michael Bright. Her middle name is a combination of her original last and first names. Her original last name, and that of other children at the orphanage was because of the river Qian that ran through her town. Her first name, Rong,  is the same as a silver-trunked, delicate-flowered tree. Elizabeth arrived in the U.S. on 21 April 2005.
